Update to Indoor Mask Mandate - February 16, 2022

IMPORTANT

As of Wednesday, February 16, 2022:

The statewide indoor mask mandate for FULLY VACCINATED PERSONS has expired. Masks are no longer required for persons accessing public spaces such as stores and restaurants.

All real estate showings (open houses, broker tours, private showings, appraisals, inspections, photography, etc.) fall within this same category and therefore MASKS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED AT REAL ESTATE SHOWINGS FOR PERSONS WHO ARE FULLY VACCINATED.

BOOSTERS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED for people to be maskless, but businesses/agents can choose to require boosters if they wish.

All Bay Area Counties EXCEPT SANTA CLARA will follow the State example and discontinue their indoor local mask mandates FOR FULLY VACCINATED PERSONS.

Note: The public mask mandate is distinguished from the separate OSHA workplace mask and vaccine mandate(s). Different rules apply. Please consult your employer/broker.

THE SELLER MAY IMPOSE ADDITIONAL STANDARDS:
The seller is welcome to impose his/her own standards including mask mandates and vaccine confirmation; however, these requirements must be implemented uniformly and in compliance with Fair Housing laws. *Written confirmation is required between agent and seller.

NO OBLIGATION TO SCRUTINIZE VACCINE CARDS / SELF-ATTESTATION IS SUFFICIENT:
Realtors® are NOT required to make an inquiry of each visitor and to check vaccination cards. All visitors are required to comply with state and local laws. Self attestation by visitors is sufficient.

POSTING NOTICE:
Realtors® may wish to post a sign at the property stating: “All persons entering must comply with the current CA statewide Covid 19 requirements. Masks (and social distancing) are required for any person who is not fully vaccinated. Certain recognized exceptions apply to persons with certain religious beliefs and/or physical inability to wear a mask.”
